Hauser & Wirth is pleased to announce the launch of Hauser & Wirth Editions, an initiative focused exclusively on prints, editions, and multiples. Showcasing the remarkably diverse working practices of the gallery's artists, Hauser & Wirth Editions aims to highlight the critical significance of this rich area of artistic endeavour and foster greater awareness and appreciation for it.
For many artists, including Dieter Roth, Louise Bourgeois, Paul McCarthy, and Roni Horn, among others, printmaking remains integral to their investigations. The creative process involves traditional techniques, ranging from lithography and etching to screenprinting, as well as leading edge technologies and digital processes. This array of approaches permits for experimentation and the transformation of forms, materials, and ideas. In an era when new technology encourages ever more exuberant global communication, printed matter continues to play a unique and essential role in the transmission and circulation of artistic thought. Prints, editions, and multiples provide intimate access to a deeper understanding of the ways in which artists engage in their own practice and invite us to join in their exploration of the world at large.
