Bharti Kher has been awarded the Arken, one of Denmark’s most prestigious art prizes. The prize celebrates artists who are at the forefront of their profession and create exciting and often challenging works that engage the international world of contemporary art. Kher has been awarded the prize for her ability to stimulate conversation and pose critical questions of identity, uniquely viewed through both Indian and Western eyes and reflected with humour and mordancy.
